
Alistair Mitchell

Alistair Mitchell joined Research In Motion Limited in 2008 as Vice-President of Multimedia Integration. In 2010, Mr. Mitchell assumed the position of Vice-President, BBM & Integrated Services, responsible for product development and management for Blackberry Messenger (BBM), the BBM Platform and associated media experiences. Prior to RIM, Mr. Mitchell founded and developed one of North America’s first licensed digital music businesses, Puretracks. During his tenure as CEO at Puretracks, Mr. Mitchell led the organization through successive years of growth, and financings. In 2006, Puretracks was sold to Bell Canada, where he remained until joining RIM. Previous experience included work in communications and broadcasting. Mr. Mitchell is the recipient of International Gabriel Award for broadcasting achievement, a frequent speaker on the digital media sector, an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto, and a graduate of McGill University’s Bachelor of Music program.
