Dean McCall is a well-known catalyst in the Texas technology community and is a natural born connector and collaborative venture facilitator. Dean is currently CEO of Appficient Inc.; a mobile application development company based out of San Antonio, Texas. Dean also currently serves as an advisor to DFJ Mercury on seed and early-stage ventures in the area of technology and innovation.
In 2006, Dean was recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of the 40 most influential people under 40 years old.
Dean currently serves as either a board member or advisor to the following organizations: South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Conference, the Rice Alliance for Technology & Entrepreneurship, and the University of Texas – San Antonio Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Dean is also currently an advisor to the following privately held companies: Atrack, Grapevine and Callisto.fm.
