Greg has been a part of a string of successful technology start-ups in his career and is currently the COO and CFO of global digital eReading success story Kobo. Kobo was acquired by Internet giant Rakuten for $315 million in December 2011, just 2 years after inception, and is on track to be one of the largest digital content/eReading companies in the world. Greg joined Kobo from Opalis Software, where he was CFO for the high-growth, venture-backed software company that was successfully acquired by Microsoft in 2009. Prior to Opalis, Greg was with Cyberplex (TSX: CX), a leading publicly-traded technology firm, and also held senior positions at a large, privately-held, global organization where he was a part of the company’s first global division from conception to over $100 million in revenue, quickly becoming the leading, most profitable division in the organization.
Greg is a Certified General Accountant (CGA), has a Business Administration Diploma, and holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science Degree (BAccS) from the University of Calgary.
When not growing successful start-ups, Greg can be found either spending time with his family or racing motorcycles at the local raceway.
