Matt Golden is a long time mobile entrepreneur and investor and is the Managing Director of Golden Venture Partners, a mobile focused seed and early stage venture capital fund based in Toronto, Canada. Golden Venture Partners has invested in a number of companies focused on breakthrough innovations in the mobile and smartphone ecosystem including Toronto based Guardly and Wattpad and Boston based, Yesware.
Prior to his current role, Matt was an advisor to Five Mobile; recently acquired by Zynga and was a partner with the BlackBerry Partners Fund where he was responsible for investments in Toronto based SocialDeck (Acquired by Google), San Francisco based Transpera (acquired by Tremor Media) and Nexage, a Boston based leading mobile advertising mediation and optimization platform.
In 2001, Matt co-founded Tira Wireless, which became a recognized industry leader in mobile content publishing and content deployment technologies and prior to that Matt held the position of Director of New Ventures at Brightspark, an early stage venture capital fund and was an associate with the law firm of Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt.
Matt is a frequent speaker at mobile and venture capital events, including Mobile World Congress and CTIA, where he is invited to share his expertise on mobile software and mobile business and distribution models. He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa’s LLB/MBA program.
