Ted Starkman is President of The Shopping Channel (a division of Rogers Broadcasting Limited) and a member of the Rogers Media Senior Leadership Team. Ted is responsible for the overall business of The Shopping Channel — Canada’s leading home shopping interactive multichannel, multi-brand, TV and eCommerce retailer.
Under Ted’s leadership The Shopping Channel, a Canadian retail and eCommerce success story, has more than doubled with annual sales in excess of $325 million, over 600 employees, more than 20,000 items online, over 1 million online unique visitors per month; its leading Canadian eCommerce sites have grown profitable sales exponentially to exceed $125 million annually. The Shopping Channel group now ships over 15,000 items per day to Canadian households across the country and daily B-to-B pallet shipments to every tier one Canadian retailer.
Ted is a member of the Board of Directors of the Retail Council of Canada, a past member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Marketing Association, past Chair of the CMA/Marketing Magazine’s Digital Marketing Conference, past Chair of the Retail Council of Canada’s annual STORE conference. Ted has been featured on the cover of Canadian Retailer magazine as a retail industry innovator and change leader. Ted is a frequent keynote speaker and panel participant at various industry conferences.
A lawyer by training, Ted graduated from the University of Toronto law school. Ted also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
Ted is married to Jenifer Lev-Starkman and is the proud father of Maxwell, Benjamin and Emma.
